Most examples are unnecessarily ellaborated and full of details to be useful. Perelman makes a convincing argument that focusing only on speech of this kind excludes the vast majority of communication, and that its equally, if not more, important to pay close attention to how discourse in the realm of opinion, or “the realm of rhetoric” operates.
Arguentacion paper aims to clarify the meaning of this icon in the past, through the analysis of some diachronic elements, and the sense of using it nowadays. The New Rhetoric: A Treatise on Argumentation
The authors spent years collecting and studying examples of daily, lived argumentation practices and developed a theory critical of formal logic, yet normative in the sense of how formal logic can be ethically argumehtacion properly applied to the creation of argumentation. New discoursive elements that extend beyond the robustness of deductive logic, such as the role of the auditorium, the dynamics of group adherence, or the use of non-formal fallacies represent now acceptable units I read this book as part of a course in rhetoric.

Thanks for telling us about the problem. I wrote a rather ignorant paper about audience as an undergrad that only raised more questions and concerns than answers. In doing so, they draw attention to the particularities of disciplinary rhetorics and approaches to argumentation, calling for the sort of work teoriw has been taken up by many scholars of disciplinary rhetorics. I really enjoyed their view both of rhetoric and the possibilities for argumentation.
This book won me argmentacion to Perelmanism in many ways, not least because it was so readable and straddled the theory-practice line so neatly.
The book offered deeper insights into human mind. A good book but it is largely descriptive and seeks to set out all srgumentacion features of rhetoric and discourse.
