I’ve always loved and understood archetypes, so I enjoyed the personal application of them to my life and personality. I I didn’t care too much for this book. Yet one meaning of myth is a commonly held yet false belief. For the record, I am an Artist, a Caregiver, and an Intellectual. Also, I felt that the archetypes themselves didn’t allow ENOUGH wiggle-room for other personality traits to exist within any specific archetype.
Archetypes: Who Are You?
Myss’s use of the term archetype feels wrong to me since, in my mind, bt archetype denotes a much more esoteric spiritual meaning beyond and independent of a personality type. I’m a tarot reader, and in tarot, archetypes are important. It doesn’t lessen the material in the book but it does make me wonder about the validity of the information. Her choice of vocabulary is interesting, and perhaps gives the reader an insight into the author.
